About the journey.
About a year ago, I made a choice that changed not just how I eat — but how I live, lead, and think. My journey into veganism began with a simple goal: to take better care of myself. To eat cleaner. To feel sharper. To stay healthy enough to keep showing up fully for the people I serve and the mission I carry.
At first, it was about food — learning how to build my plate differently, exploring new flavors, and unlearning old habits. But over time, I realized this path wasn’t only about what I was taking out of my diet — it was about what I was gaining.
Clarity. Energy. Purpose.
As I continue my work in leadership — walking alongside women of color who are redefining what leadership looks like — I’ve found that veganism mirrors the same values that guide my professional life: compassion, discipline, and persistence. Just as leadership begins from within, so does wellness.
This journey isn’t perfect, and it isn’t finished. But every meal, every choice, and every lesson reminds me that growth is both a spiritual and physical act. I’m still learning, still transforming — one plant-based step at a time.
